So many things have happened, like Southern Fried Burlesque Festival, and I have neglected my duties in reporting how much fun I’ve been having.
I wanted to share a video of a recent class that involves a mini-burlesque crash course, the Coquette Way. My coquettish burlesque style involves a lot butts, body part slapping, and pop music. I am very much a deep lover of the pop. In this class, we had two hours to learn an entire choreography to Ke$ha’s “Take It Off” from her album, “Animal.” There is a lot of tweaking I think I want to do in parts of the choreography, and definitely make the piece a bit more interactive (because something I love MORE than slapping my own body parts on stage? slapping other people’s body parts– please see the Minx choreography to Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” for primo slapping action).
Maybe one day we can see this bitch polished and on stage! In the meantime, enjoy a little bit of my class’s efforts– they were WONDERFUL STUDENTS, holy cow. I love teaching, I really do.
